The Institute’s sessions include weekly panels on professional issues, including pedagogy, program development, publishing, and the job market.
The pedagogy panel is organized in two parts: a two-hour meeting led by our IWL Director and other faculty on pedagogic strategies is followed later in the session by small-group discussions during which participants can share and discuss syllabi and strategies with each other and an IWL faculty member.
The panel on program development will provide faculty participants in the Institute with the opportunity to discuss ways to expand and restructure their programs and courses in world literature so as to meet their students’ needs and the ongoing theoretical and methodological changes in this field. The faculty participants who run courses and programs in world literature will have the opportunity to present them during this panel.
A third special panel led by members of our IWL faculty will focus on publishing strategies in comparative and world literature today, and a fourth will consider job market strategies.
