The awareness and inclusiveness of world literature

The IWL program has introduced me to a wealth of perspectives on several disciplines in relation to the debates of World Literature, including postcolonial studies, translation studies, gender studies, etc. The in-depth discussion in class with leading scholars and budding researchers has broadened my perspective of thought and the conception of how the ‘world’ is conceived in different cultures. The program facilitates not only the exchange of knowledge, but also the connection with individuals cross-culturally. It was to me very exhilarating to see how our world’s literary vision has been greatly expanding and how much effort has been put into promoting awareness and inclusiveness of world literature.
