Think: Plenary Lectures

A primary goal of the IWL is to provide participants with a grounding in the core questions and skills that tie together the breadth of scholarship and pedagogy on world literature. To this end, a main component will be weekly lectures in which Institute faculty will survey and assess key concepts and critical texts, including discussions of the theory and pedagogy of translation, genre theory and comparative poetics, literary globalization, and the politics of world literature. Lectures will bring together the entire group of participants at the Institute, and will allow students to learn from and interact with faculty members outside of their particular seminar or affinity group. A finalized list of lectures will be available by late spring.
